What is it?
Brewed Beauty is a student-led, sustainable beauty business founded through Enactus Guelph. We transform repurposed coffee grounds into eco-friendly, cruelty-free body scrubs that promote natural beauty and reduce waste. Rooted in entrepreneurship and environmental stewardship, Brewed Beauty empowers future leaders and champions a circular economy, with a mission to innovate and grow while caring for both people and the planet.
Award-Winning Project
In May 2025, Brewed Beauty earned first place in the Canadian Tire Environmental Sustainability Challenge and proudly represented the University of Guelph at the Enactus Canada National Exposition in Calgary, placing in the top 8 out of 52 post-secondary institutions nationwide. Following this success, the team received a grant from the City of Guelph Youth Climate Action Fund, supporting their mission to expand local outreach and foster sustainable change within more communities.
Our Process
At Brewed Beauty, we upcycle used coffee grounds into eco-friendly skincare to fight waste and climate change. With over 18 million tons of grounds wasted globally each year—100 million pounds in Canada alone—we’re turning trash into treasure.

We collect coffee grounds from local cafés and the University of Guelph, serving 30,000+ students, then clean, sterilize, and blend them with natural ingredients like coconut oil and essential oils.

Packaged in reusable mason jars, our scrubs promote zero-waste habits and reduce methane emissions. By giving coffee a second life, we’re creating sustainable beauty products while supporting a cleaner planet and a stronger community.

Solution
